IPE

Pronounced E-pay and sometimes known as Brazilian Walnut, is native to South America. This very dense exotic wood is often known for carrying a reddish brown color varying to yellowish brown or a darker black brown. Ipe has become popular amongst contractors and designers for its insect resistance, and extremely slow rotting rate. New York City's Coney Island replaces their decks every 25 years!
